We received word that Maari had been included in this Finnish blog. http://sisustusheinia.wordpress.com/
Written by a 23 year old woman who lives in Helsinki, it offers a channelled passion for design and helpful direction of trends.
Interested in interior design and a seller of design products herself, she met the owner of Maari, Maarit Mattanen, one year ago at the Habitare design fair, a fair that she tells on her blog, she attends every year. This particular blog page is written as a recalling of memorable sellers from that year and Maari was one of two that remained prominent. She states that the Maari tiles on sale differ from conventional tiles and are memorable because of their difference.
She also comments on the combining of sensitivity and nature in Maari's craft and the fact that it is possible to purchase Maari products, the world over...via numerous online outlets and bricks and mortar shops..not least Australia, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
A great blog to become aquainted with...even if you do not speak Finnish, you can enjoy the pictures, the links and can always translate with Google! :D

MAARI ..... Etsyn Treasuryssa
Lähes päivittäin saamme ilmoituksia Etsy-sivuston jäseniltä, että yksi tai useampi Maari tuotteista on sisällytetty "Treasuryiin". "Mikä on Treasury?", Saatat kysyä!
Treasury on kokoelma, jossa on linkkejä ja kuvia jopa kuudestatoista tuotteesta, joihin joku on rakastanut tai antanut "sydämensä" ja haluaa mainostaa tuotteita ryhmänä ja näin hyödyntää Etsyn ostogalleriaa.
Ajattelimme, että saattaisit haluta nähdä pari tällaista, joissa Maari on mukana.

MAARI ..... an Etsy Treasury
Nearly everyday we receive notifications from an Etsy site member that one or more of the MAARI products has been included in a 'Treasury'. 'What is a Treasury?', you may well ask!
A Treasury is a collection, with links and images to up to sixteen items that someone has loved or 'hearted' enough to advertise as a combined group to benefit all as a shopping gallery on the Etsy site.
We thought that you might like to see a couple that MAARI was included in.

Tervetuloa tutustumaan Maarin Rakukeramiikkaan! Welcome to Maari Raku Ceramics!
Maari Ceramics welcomes you to their blog page.
Based in the village of Sodankylä, Finnish Lapland. The Maari workshop and gallery is located between the civil offices and the old and new churches, just off the Route 4. Celebrating already ten years in business this year, Maari offers a wide range of Raku handmade ceramic products to local residents, tourists and a worldwide community.
The Raku technique has its roots in Japanese pottery. Traditionally, Raku is hand molded clay, as opposed to turning on a potter's wheel. Each item is unique and one of a kind. Raku firing is done outside in the open air. Fired Raku pieces are taken from the hot kiln and placed into water or in Maari's case, into snow, during the winter months.
Raku has, over the years been adopted and modified by potters the world over. It is now a worldwide phenomenon and its popularity grows with each passing year. This probably due to the fact that Raku texture and unpredictability of the material allows for an unlimited world of possibilities! It is of no surprise then, that the term Raku literally translates as "enjoyment".
The source of inspiration for Maari's beautiful series is the Koivu - the Birch tree. Which is the tough lady of the forest and a part of every Finnish person's soul. The Koivu registered brand delivers a beautiful nature based range to your home. It's essence captured and brought indoors!
From the Maari.fi pages you can find beautiful products for your interior decoration. You are also very welcome to drop in at my shop and ceramic workshop in the heart of Sodankylä, Lapland, Finland. In the shop, you will also find one off items, not generally advertised online!
Maari. fi is the online shop for Maari Raku Ceramics. We post worldwide.
